Dongara woman charged over 1.5kg cannabis seizure

A Dongara woman is facing serious drug charges after police allegedly seized about 1.5kg of cannabis from her vehicle near Yanchep on Tuesday.

The 44-year-old was stopped travelling north on Wanneroo Road about 10am after officers from Jurien Bay police identified her Holden following a tip off from the public.

Police say a search of the vehicle’s boot revealed the cannabis, stored in two zip-lock bags, and a smoking implement.

The woman was transferred to Yanchep Police Station and questioned by officers.

She has been charged with possession of a prohibited drug with intent to sell or supply and possession of a prohibited smoking implement.

She was released on bail is due to appear in Joondalup Magistrates Court at a later date.

Jurien Bay police took to twitter to announce the alleged seizure.
