A 54-year-old Meekatharra man has been charged and had his vehicle seized after Mount Magnet police allegedly caught him driving without a licence and more than four times over the legal blood alcohol limit.

Officers stopped the man on Hepburn Street, Mount Magnet, about 12.40am today, after noticing the poor state of his Holden Commodore sedan.

Police said the car had a smashed windscreen, a shredded tyre, and was missing a wheel nut.

The man was charged with high-range drink driving and driving with a disqualified licence and had his vehicle seized for 28 days.

He will face Cue/Mount Magnet Magistrate’s Court in October.
