Geraldton Guardian

A Carnarvon driver towing a trailer towards Geraldton allegedly blew more than five times the legal blood alcohol limit on a roadside test this morning.

The 48-year-old allegedly blew 0.26 roadside, later calculated to 0.147 in an official reading at Northampton Police Station.

The man and his partner were pulled over on North West Coastal Highway at Alma, about 10 kilometres north of Northampton, at 8.55am.

The man was serviced with a licence disqualification notice and has been charged with exceeding 0.08.

He will face Northampton Magistrate’s Court at a later date.
