A Drummond Cove motorist has been charged after he was allegedly found carrying methylamphetamine.

Geraldton police were carrying out patrols in Beachlands on Sunday at 9.10pm when they stopped the 36-year-old driver on Fitzgerald Street.

Police allege the man gave false details to the police and did not have a driver’s licence.

Police searched the man and allegedly found about three grams of methylamphetamine in his clothing.

A further search allegedly uncovered $535 in cash.

The man was charged with unlicensed driving, possessing with intent to sell or supply a prohibited drug and providing false evidence of personal details to police.

He is due to appear at Geraldton Magistrate’s Court at a later date.
