Driver unscathed as truck catches fire

Great Northern Highway was closed for two hours this morning after a truck caught fire 200km south of Mount Magnet.

Police said the 50-year-old driver was not injured in the incident, but the truck was a write-off.

An electrical fault is believed to have caused the blaze.

Police from Mt Magnet and Dalwallinu attended the scene, along with the Department of Fire and Emergency Services, but the fire was extinquished by the time they arrived.

The road was re-opened at 10.30am.
