Police seek witnesses to dramatic Geraldton car crash

Police are seeking witnesses to a crash in Sunset Beach this morning which resulted in a woman having to be cut free from her overturned car.

Geraldton Fire and Rescue Service crews were forced to cut open the roof of the car to free the driver after the incident, which happened about 8.45am at the intersection of Chapman Valley Road and North West Coastal Highway.

The woman, aged in her 40s, was taken by St John Ambulance to Geraldton Hospital, where her condition today was described as stable.

She was the sole occupant of the vehicle.

Sergeant Drue Pardoe appealed for anyone who witnessed the crash or who had dashcam footage to contact Mid West Gascoyne Traffic officers at Geraldton Police Station on 9923 4555.
