A former Geraldton massage therapist will stand trial on almost 10 charges related to the alleged abuse of several of his clients after pleading not guilty to new allegations.

Chun Hung Wong, 37, was last year charged with carrying out indecent acts and unlawful and indecent assault.

Additional charges have since emerged, and Mr Wong on Thursday entered a not guilty plea to another count of carrying out an indecent act.

He did not appear in Geraldton Magistrate’s Court in person, with the defence counsel saying Mr Wong was caring for his partner following her leg surgery.

Police have alleged the incidents occurred during Mr Wong’s massage sessions with several clients from 2013 to 2016 and 2019 to 2021.

The matter is listed for a five-day trial to be held in Geraldton from March 14.

Mr Wong this week applied for a Cantonese interpreter to be present via audio link during the hearing.

He is prohibited from engaging in professional remedial or massage practices as part of his condition of bail.
