False numberplates lead to several charges

A 30-year-old Mount Tarcoola man is facing several charges after he was allegedly caught driving with false numberplates on Sunday.

Geraldton police stopped the man in his Subaru Liberty on Willcock Drive, Tarcoola Beach, about 6.05pm.

During a search of the car officers allegedly found drug paraphernalia.

He was charged with driving an unlicensed vehicle, no authority to drive, affixing false plates and possessing drug paraphernalia.

Later that same night a Northam woman was charged with possessing cannabis following a traffic stop in Rangeway.

Police stopped the 62-year-old in a Ford Festiva about 9.35pm.

Both will face Geraldton Magistrate’s Court.
