Famous Four farewell
The front page of Tuesday’s Guardian featured a moving photograph of Ollie Wrensted talking to her husband, Clarrie, on either side of a window at a nursing home he had recently entered.
The story told of Ollie’s anguish at having to place Clarrie in care. It was around the time the COVID-19 lockdown happened, and when his younger brother Charlie had just passed away.
Clarrie, 87, was the last of the “Famous Four” siblings (also Alan and Mick) who played footy for Railways in the 1950s and ’60s.
Sadly, he passed away on Tuesday morning.
Our condolences to all the Wrensted family.
