Five juveniles charged with 36 offences after stealing spree in Geraldton, including four motorcycles

Geraldton police have charged five juveniles with 36 offences after allegedly going on a crime spree this week, including burglaries, stealing and vehicle theft. Acting officer in charge Sen. Sgt Paul Johnson said the burglaries occurred between midnight and 4am on Wednesday, March 20. The five accused are boys aged between 12 and 15. Police allege they approached a residence on Johnston Street in Geraldton after noticing the rear door was open. The juveniles allegedly entered the home and stole a set of keys from a bedroom, then left the residence in the occupant’s vehicle. The occupant was asleep in bed during the break-in. The stolen vehicle was then driven out to Sadler Way in Deepdale with the intention of stealing motorcycles, police allege. The boys allegedly approached a shed on the property which was unlocked and housed three Honda motorcycles and a Can-Am quad bike. The accused boys allegedly rode off on three of the motorcycles, leaving one behind as it could not be started. Police said the stolen motor vehicle later crashed into a power pole on Flores Road in Webberton before its juvenile occupants abandoned it, fleeing as pillion passengers on the dirt bikes.
