Footy fans both young and old will be dressing up in their team colours today, and many will be seeing an AFL game live for the first time.

Wandina couple Aaron and Danniele Sweetman will introduce their six-month-old son Izaac to the world of AFL when they line up to watch the Eagles v Dockers game at Wonthella Oval.

While Aaron is a diehard West Coast Eagles supporter and Danniele is a passionate Fremantle Dockers supporter, the pair have agreed to let Izaac pick a side when he is a little older.

“We will dress Izaac in Eagles gear for the first half of the game and then swap him into his Dockers outfit for the second half,” Aaron said.

“Hopefully he picks the right team when he is older, or decides he wants to follow an entirely different sport — we won’t mind.”

Saturday’s Derby will be the first time watching a live AFL game for sisters Matilda Kelly, 11, and Makenzie Chatley, 8.

The couple travel to Perth to attend games at Domain Stadium and said they were stoked to drive only 20 minutes this weekend.

Spalding sisters Matilda Kelly, 11, and Makenzie Chatley, 8, will be attending their first live AFL match tomorrow.

A long-time Fremantle supporter, Matilda believes her sister only chose to follow the Eagles to rival her older sibling.

“That’s not true, I actually chose to follow the Eagles because I love that their symbol is an eagle,” Makenzie said.
