Construction is under way for an upcoming bar on the Geraldton foreshore, with new venue Froth Craft Brewery Geraldton planned to open later this year.
Works have already started on the CBD’s newest watering hole, based in a prime location on the corner of Cathedral Avenue and Foreshore Drive.
The brewery has been in the pipeline for a while, with approval initially granted by the City of Greater Geraldton in April 2025.
Pete Firth, director at Froth Craft Brewery, said they were making progress on the new business but it was “still very much in its infancy”.
“We’re really stoked that it’s coming to fruition now, and excited for what’s to come,” he said.
Mr Firth said like many construction projects undertaken in the last few years, inflation and building costs had an impact on them.
They are aiming to be pouring their first beers and serving up their menu by the end of the year.
The space has previously been used as a bookshop and was home to Skeetas Restaurant.
Froth Craft Brewery Co, opened its first microbrewery in Exmouth in 2017, has since expanded to Bunbury and Perth’s North Beach.
The opening will add to Geraldton’s dining and entertainment options, with 20 beers available on tap and an Asian-fusion menu.
Mr Firth said that passers-by had “a lot of encouragement” for the building.
In August 2025, the City of Greater Geraldton approved alfresco dining for outside service, similar to the space out the front of Foreshore Hangout Lounge.
