Geraldton identity Dane Waters was named citizen of the year in the City of Greater Geraldton’s WA Active Citizen of the Year Awards.

Mr Waters is chief executive of Health Communication Resources and is active in numerous other not-for-profit groups, particularly in the areas of health and health education.

He said he was humbled by the recognition.

“You don’t work in community health or community services just for the awards, you do it because you want to see and make a difference in the community,” he said.
