One night, two exhibitions, both with similar environmental values between each other’s ultimately different works.

The Geraldton Regional Art Gallery’s opening night on Friday, May 13 showcased two exhibitions available to the public for a limited time.

Guests from Perth and the Mid West gathered at the gallery from 6pm to view the showcase.

A four-artist collaboration, called STRATIGRAPHY, exposes each artists individual perspectives of nature and the land.

It features WA’s flat mountains and vast landscapes, shown through the artists’ complex relationships towards the environment.

The artists — Merrick Belyea, Sara Elson, Brad Rimmer and Susan Roux — unravel the variety of shapes, colours, flora and fauna of WA in the collaborative, outdoor theme.

Upstairs is the the simple, stark white and stunning exhibit SUBJECT: STUDIO, providing insights into the artist, Susan Ecker, her home from indoors, behind studio walls, staring out into nature.

The international painter reflects her serene space through the paintings, sculptures, prints and drawings and offers her insight of the inside world looking out.

The exhibitions will close on June 26.
