Geraldton basketball Rd 6 preview: Valley look to extend streak while Olympians and Hawks clash

After their last battle ended in a one-point thriller, the round one rematch between Olympians and Hawks promises to be a tantalising clash. The rematch on Tuesday, November 14, will headline round six of the Geraldton Amateur Basketball Association season. Now that every team has played each other, the fixtures go back to the round one match-ups, which began with Olympians coming away with a win over Hawks by the slimmest of margins. This time around, Olympians look to be in the driver’s seat again for the match-up as they sit second on the ladder with just one loss, and are coming off an eight-point 90-82 win over Pumas in round five. Their side has also welcomed the addition of Johny Narkle, who was not on the court in the first game between the two sides but has since made an impact for Olympians, scoring 33 points last week. Hawks are coming off a tough loss against Chapman Valley from last week but were missing Ryan Blanchett in the match, who was the second leading scorer the first time these two sides met. In the Wednesday matches, Chapman Valley will look to stay on a roll as they have yet to lose a game this season, when they face-off against a Trades side that managed to pick up their first win last week. Pumas will take on Stateside in the other match. Pumas have fallen to 2-3 after previously sitting second on the ladder, but will have a chance to move up against a struggling Stateside team who haven’t won a game yet.
