In a clash between the top two in round seven of the Geraldton Basketball Association, the undefeated Chapman Valley take on the red hot Olympians on Tuesday. Chapman Valley lead the league as they have a firm hold on first place of men’s division one, sitting undefeated with a win against every team in the competition. They backed it up again last week against a Trades side that has been competitive, despite their 1-5 record, winning 88-68. Now they face an Olympians side whose only loss came against Valley in round two, and that was without Olympians star Johny Narkle. The Olympians started their season without Narkle but he has been the difference since he joined the team, taking over late last week to help pull out a one point 99-98 win over the Hawks. In other matches on Wednesday, Pumas — who are back on track after a blowout win last week — take on Trades. The match went heavily in the Pumas’ favour the first time these two teams met, and now Trades will have to pull off a big upset if they want to compete with the top sides. Finally, the Hawks will take on Stateside with both teams coming off very different losses. The Hawks led by as much as 14 points during their game against Olympians last week but gave up the lead with just one second left. Stateside were at the other end of the Pumas’ blowout, falling 99-41, and will need a big game if they want to pull off an upset. The women’s division one matches took place on Monday night as the top two sides in Pumas and Stateside clashed while Trades took on Chapman Valley.
