Pumas will look to be the first team to make a dent in Chapman Valley’s undefeated record as the Geraldton Basketball Association season reaches the half-way point. The two men’s division one sides are set to face off in the Tuesday, November 28 game, and while this match-up was a clash of first against second when these sides met in round three, Pumas have since taken a step back. Starting their season with back-to-back 100-point scoring wins, the round three defeat to Chapman Valley started a three-game losing streak for the Pumas. Now coming off back-to-back wins over Stateside and Trades, the Pumas will look to claim their first win over a top side. They face a tall task as Chapman Valley look unstoppable, with the side rolling the competition with a 7-0 record throughout the first seven games. It continued last week as they comfortably won by 15 points over the second-placed Olympians in the Tuesday clash, with Aaron Ralph shining in the win with 11 three’s. Olympians have a chance at redemption on Wednesday with a game against Stateside. Olympians were on a four-game win streak before being snuffed out by Valley last week, but now face Stateside who are yet to pick up their first win this season. The game went heavily in Olympians’ favour when they won 117-83 in round three against Stateside. In the final division one match-up, Hawks will take on Trades. The Hawks gave fallen to fourth on the ladder after two one-point losses to the Olympians, but they rebounded against Stateside last week. The Trades, who have just one win in their season, managed to hold the lead over the Pumas throughout the first half last week but couldn’t hold them off for the full game. In women’s division one, Olympians took on Trades on Monday, which was followed by Stateside against Chapman Valley.
