Geraldton Buccaneers go two for two on the road in the NBL1 West opening weekend

The Geraldton Buccaneers have won their opening two matches of the NBL1 West Season defeating the South West Slammers and the Mandurah Magic. The Buccs travelled to the Eaton Recreation Centre on Saturday night to face the Slammers, coming out 94-62 victors in a dominant display. Cameron Coleman impressed for the Buccs with 28 points while Shaun Stewart was another stand-out, scoring 20 points to go with nine rebounds and four assists. The Buccs then followed that up with a trip to Mandurah on Sunday, downing the Magic in an overtime thriller. Stewart continued his form from the previous match scoring 27, while Coleman put up 19 and Meunier added 15 In the end, Geraldton prevailed 99 to 90, setting themselves up strongly for the season with two wins. The Buccs will continue their run on the road with away games against the Willetton Tigers and Lakeside Lightning on April 23 and 24, before returning to their home court on April 30 to face the Cockburn Cougars.
