After a busy two weeks of cyclone clean-up, Mid West communities are invited to enjoy an afternoon of local entertainment, good food and great vibes on Sunday.

Organised by Sweet Orange Productions and the Mid West Chamber of Commerce and Industry, the S.O.S Seroja Relief Fundraiser will see all proceeds donated to the Lord Mayor’s Distress Relief Fund to help those affected by the April 11 cyclone.

The family-friendly event will feature live performances by local artists, activities for kids, food trucks, and live and silent auctions.

Chamber chief executive Joanne Fabling said the event was intended to act as a “salve” for those forced to rebuild their homes and businesses.

“There has been a lot of stress and for people to have a couple of hours of light relief, listen to some music, eat some good local food and talk to their neighbours and talk to other people in the area, it will be such a good thing,” she said.

Ms Fabling said many people were eager to help out those affected by the cyclone, and donating through the Lord Mayor’s Distress Relief Fund was a great way to show their support.

“There is a lot of people out there who would love to give more,” she said.

“The relief fund is a very reputable fund and we know the funds will go where they need to go across the Mid West,” she said.

Free activities will run from 2pm at the Geraldton Surf Life Saving Club.

Entry is free.
