Geraldton celebrates Headspace Day 2022 and invites people to Pause. Reflect. Reconnect
Geraldton’s Headspace team celebrated their national day on Wednesday and invited people to Pause. Reflect. and Reconnect.
More than 20 attendees turned up at the Headspace office and enjoyed a mindfulness walk along the foreshore, taking in their surroundings while focusing on the five senses.
Headspace Day is a national day of support for the mental health and wellbeing of all young Australians and the theme for this year is Pause. Reflect. Reconnect.
Following the walk, pizza’s and refreshments were provided in the therapy garden giving people the chance to mingle and chat about what they had just experienced.
Headspace community awareness and engagement officer Chadd Simson said they heard from many young people that they’re feeling busy, stressed and anxious just about everyday life.
“What we listened to, was the fact that young people face a unique set of kind of life transitions and challenges,” Mr Simson said.
“It can sometimes make life feel challenging and the challenges that are leaving some people feeling as though their lives are quite unbalanced.
“So essentially, the theme pause, reflect, reconnect, is trying to remind not just young people, but everyone in Australia, young people, their families, whoever, that it can be helpful to slow down and just take the time to do something for your health and well being.”
