Geraldton Combined Equestrian Club’s horse of year event goes off without a hitch
If you asked the participants at the Geraldton Combined Equestrian Club’s horse of the year event last month if there were any hitches on the day, they’d say “neigh”.
Among the results on the day, Esme Johnson and Emperors Hill Temptation won the parade lead rein/first ridden category ahead of Lahni Godenzie and Woranora Gemini.
Godenzie and Woranora Gemini were winners in the lead rein/first ridden rider and mini pony of the year categories.
Chayla See and Tandara Park Nibbles won smartest on parade pony.
There was also a unique Fashions on the Field event on the day, with competitors leading their horses while dressed in their fashions. Chayla See and Tandara Park Nibbles won the junior fashions category. Tanika Hutchinson and Private Eyes won the senior and off-the-track divisions.
Organiser Steph Johnson said the rules were simple.
“The judge decides which one they like best in terms of presentation,” she said.
