Geraldton dentist and golfer Geoff Noonan has a hole lot to celebrate

Filling holes is child’s play for dentist Geoff Noonan. But on May 21 he filled a different kind of hole — and his hole in one on the 185m 14th at Spalding Park golf course achieved something else. It silenced, and took the sporting spotlight, away from a mate. Mr Noonan and friends Steve Muir and Warren Kalajzich were getting sick of the publicity Geraldton legal eagle George Giudice was getting. So Mr Noonan, who with his wife Helen came to Geraldton “for a year or two” from Perth via Port Hedland four decades ago, delivered a takeover. “Haven’t told George yet . . . he can read about it,” Mr Noonan said last Friday, while celebrating his lifelong sporting goal and his 43rd wedding anniversary. “The kids and grandkids were pretty excited when they heard. “Helen was so excited she needed a cold shower and a Panadol.” Mr Giudice may well request the same when he finds out.
