Geraldton detectives allege two juvenile boys ordered pizza to an address in Spalding and stole the delivery driver’s car, with one offender armed with a metal picket.

Police say about 9.20pm on Friday, February 3, a 17-year-old delivery driver arrived at Nixon Street in Spalding to deliver pizza.

Officer-in-charge Det-Sen. Sgt Bruce McDonald alleged when the employee pulled into the driveway, he was approached by a 17-year-old boy armed with a metal picket and hiding his identity with a T-shirt.

He said the accused threatened the delivery boy, demanding he hand over his 2003 Honda Civic before reaching into the car and taking the keys out of the ignition.

The driver feared for his safety and got out of the car. The accused then allegedly stole the vehicle, stopping a short distance away to pick up a 15-year-old boy before speeding away from the area.

The vehicle was found abandoned on Scott Road in Rangeway on Tuesday, February 7.

Det. Sen. Sgt McDonald alleged the two accused “conspired together to steal the car” and they ordered pizza with the intention of stealing the delivery driver’s car.

A 17-year-old boy was arrested on Saturday and charged with aggravated armed robbery. He was remanded in custody and will face Geraldton Children’s Court on Tuesday, February 28.

A 15-year-old was also arrested and charged with aggravated armed robbery. He was released on bail to reappear in Geraldton Children’s Court, also on February 28.
