Geraldton Detectives search for those responsible after alleged robbery and assault on Cellarbrations worker

Police are investigating a robbery at a Geraldton bottle shop after a store attendant was allegedly assaulted and required medical treatment for her injuries.

Police allege the robbery occurred on Saturday about 6pm at Cellarbrations in Wonthella. Police are wanting to speak to a man and woman captured on CCTV in the store.

Detective Sen. Const Joe Connolly said during the incident property was stolen and a female shop attendant was assaulted.

“She required medical treatment for injuries sustained,” he said.

Sen Const Connolly alleged a stolen white Toyota Corolla was used by the people responsible to flee the scene. The stolen vehicle has since been recovered by police.

“Geraldton Detectives are appealing to the public for the identity of the persons contained in the CCTV images and any information regarding the stolen vehicle and its movements,” he said.

Sen Const Connolly said he could confirm no masks were used and no weapons were involved during the course of the incident.

A Cellarbrations spokesperson said the suspects had only managed to get away with one bottle of liquor, but attempted to steal a full basket of goods.

“They tried to steal upwards of $500-$600 of stock, they filled the shopping basket,” he said.
