Geraldton will welcome two more cruise ships this December, including one which will stay overnight for the first time.

The Azamara Quest will arrive at Geraldton Port on December 17 and leave the next day, after sailing from Indonesia and spending several days at sea.

Upon arrival, passengers will be invited to a Australiana themed party at the Port, which will feature local food, entertainment and native animals.

Passengers can then make their way into the CBD or take organised tours to local attractions.

Geraldton Mayor Shane Van Styn encouraged local retailers and restaurants to be open for passengers.

“It’s all about creating memorable experiences for our visitors as they’re the ones that spread the word about how great how City is,” he said.

“Geraldton is continuing to cement itself as a top destination for Cruise ships to stop and we don’t see this slowing down anytime soon.”

The next cruise ship, Seabourn Sojourn, will arrive on December 28.
