Geraldton families gather to celebrate National Family Day Care Week

Geraldton families gathered to celebrate the 11th National Family Day Care Week last week. The week is celebrated over the country and highlights the important role that family day care educators and services have in the development and wellbeing of Australian children. It helps acknowledge the benefits of small group settings and personalised educational programming that is provided to more than 85,000 children each day. Children and families in Geraldton celebrated the occasion over the weekend with a picnic hosted by family day care educator Sri Morgan. Ms Morgan, or Aunty Tuti as the children refer to her, has run her own family day care business for 14 years and has been awarded the Mid West and Gascoyne excellence in family day care award four times. “It is important for Family Day Care Australia for educators to celebrate every year to be thankful and thankful for the community, the family and children get to come and celebrate” Ms Morgan said. Family Day Care Australia chief executive Andrew Paterson said: “National Family Day Care Week is a wonderful time for the family day care sector to come together nationally and reflect on the crucial role family day care plays in the lives of Australian children, families and communities.” “It is great seeing educators such as Sri taking part in the celebrations.”
