Geraldton firefighters control Rangeway house fire, property deemed ‘unliveable’ by DFES following flames

The Department of Fire and Emergency Services says a house in Geraldton that caught fire last week has been deemed “unliveable” as a result of the blaze. Last Wednesday, fire crews were called to Cassia Street in Rangeway at 5.22pm after they had received multiple calls about flames coming out of the roof of the property. The Geraldton fire station responders had the flames under control by 5.45pm. Footage of the incident was posted on social media, where firefighters were seen entering the house to put the flames out, with smoke escaping from the roof. Geraldton police attended, as did Western Power crews. Police say there was “no criminality” involved in the fire. Meanwhile, the DFES said the property was no longer suitable for living. St John WA confirmed it was not called to attend.
