Geraldton gets monthly average rain in seven hours

Geraldton received more rain than its average for February in just seven hours overnight.

The Bureau of Meteorology measured 14.2mm between 9am yesterday and 1.30am today, with most of the rain falling after 6.30pm yesterday.

The monthly average for Geraldton is 10.7mm.

Duty observer Lincoln Mainbridge said the February record for Geraldton was 79.6mm recorded in 1986.

Further rains are forecast for the next five days.
