The Geraldton Hockey Association returns this week with exciting match-ups across the board for the 2024 season launch.

The action will kick off on Friday at 6.30pm, with the men’s A-grade Casuals taking on the Saints, with the minor premier Casuals aiming for redemption this season, after falling in last year’s grand final.

On Saturday at 4pm, Rovers begin their campaign for a hat-trick after upsetting the Casuals in the grand final again last year.

Their quest for three straight starts against the newly combined team of Australs and Yacht Club in men’s A-grade, while Murchsion have a first round bye.

The women’s season will be jump started with the dominant Cardinals club who go up against the Swans on Friday, at 6.30pm.

Cardinals will look to extend their historic run of eight straight championships.

The following Friday, matches in the women’s A-grade will see Murchison take on Yacht Club, and Australs face-off against the Saints.

The men’s reserves games will all take place on Saturday, with Australs facing Saints, Murchison against Yacht Club and Rovers playing Casuals.

The women’s reserves were the first to hit the turf for the season, with their games played on Thursday, with the new look division no longer a split team between last years grand finalists Saints Gold or Black.

Murchison took on the newly named Yacht Club Gold, Australs faced the Vets, Cardinals went up against Yacht Club Blue and Swans played the Saints.
