Geraldton man charged over meth, gold seizure

A Geraldton man has been charged over an alleged seizure of methamphetamine worth about $50,000 and gold worth about $3500.
The 39-year-old was travelling north in a vehicle on Brand Highway at Mt Adams, near Dongara, about 9.25pm yesterday when the car was pulled over by Mingenew police as part a routine traffic patrol.
Police allegedly found a magnetic box in the engine bay containing methamphetamine and cannabis.
The search also allegedly found gold bullion and $1000 cash.
The man has been charged with two counts of possession of a prohibited drug with intent to sell or supply and one count of possession of stolen or unlawfully obtained property.
