Geraldton police have arrested and charged a man allegedly behaving in a disorderly manner in the main street of the CBD after he refused to provide his details at the scene.

On Monday, police received reports of a disturbance involving a man wearing a long-sleeved olive-green shirt on Marine Terrace about 11pm.

Geraldton police officer-in-charge Sen. Sgt Chris Martin alleged the man was shouting and swearing in the CBD before walking on foot towards Rocks Laneway.

Police located a man fitting that description at Rocks Laneway and requested his details.

Sen. Sgt Martin said after he refused to provide his details the man was arrested and taken to Geraldton Police Station.

Police obtained the man’s details and he was issued a move-on order and charged with disorderly behaviour in a public place and refusing to provide personal details to police.

He was summonsed to appear in court at a later date.
