Geraldton residents are being asked to keep an eye out for discarded motorbikes following a spate of recent burglaries around Wonthella.

A premises on Flores Road was broken into at the weekend, with three off-road motorcycles reported as stolen.

Geraldton police station officer-in-charge Sen Sgt Chris Martin said officers had since recovered one of the bikes, but two were still missing.

“If anyone sees off-road bikes that are spray painted or damaged in some other way, please ring police and let us know where they are. I expect they will be out in the bush somewhere,” he said.

“We are seeing this trend of people stealing off-road motorcycles at the moment, and then we are finding them in some of the bushland later.”

Sen Sgt Martin said three juveniles had been charged over the incident and they would appear in Geraldton Children’s Court in the coming days.
