Geraldton police officer charged with indecently dealing with 14yo girl, supplying alcohol to juveniles

A Geraldton police sergeant is set to face court on allegations he indecently dealt with a 14-year-old girl he met online and invited into his home, and supplied alcohol to juveniles. Child abuse squad detectives charged the 48-year-old officer, who has been stood down from duty, with seven offences, including three counts of encouraging a child over 13 and under 16 to engage in sexual behaviour, two counts of indecently deals with a child over 13 and under 16 and two counts of supplying juveniles alcohol on unlicensed premises. Police will allege the man met two 14-year-old girls through an online adult website this month and then provided them with alcohol at his home. “It will be further alleged the man indecently dealt with one of the girls,” a police spokesperson said. The man is a sergeant in the Mid West-Gascoyne district, but the alleged incidents happened while he was off-duty. Detectives arrested him on Thursday. Police refused him bail and he is due to appear in Geraldton Magistrates Court on Friday.
