Geraldton Police put to the test by wily sheep who was on the lamb in the CBD resisting arrest

Geraldton Police proved they will chase anyone, anywhere when they pursued a “baa-ndit” of a different kind last week in the CBD who was trying to “fleece” unsuspecting locals and resist arrest. The offender on the lam was in fact a fast and elusive sheep on the loose in the CBD, with the woolly creature giving officers on foot a run for their money, bowling some over or simply outrunning others. The foot chase lasted for more than 10 minutes before officers finally cornered the animal and despite it putting up a fight, it was eventually loaded into the back of a police vehicle. Police posted body-worn camera footage of the chase on social media on Friday. Its accompanying message read: “Leading police on a foot chase, resisting arrest and refusing to participate in an electronic record of interview is always going to result in an offender ending up behind ‘baa-rs’. “Geraldton Police refused to have the wool pulled over their eyes when they encountered an uncooperative customer in the CBD, who was no doubt looking to fleece unsuspecting locals. After being led through a number of ‘ewe-turns’, the officers coordinated a ‘lambush’ to bring the incident to an end. “A witness to the unfolding situation described the officer’s response as ‘shear’ brilliance and you can see a ‘ewetube’ video of the arrest.” Puns aside, we’re not sure if the sheepish suspect was wanted for a ram raid or a baa-r brawl which may or may not have happened on Marine-o Terrace.
