Geraldton police are running “Operation Heat Shield”.

Senior Sergeant Jason Scragg said they would be targeting offenders over the next few months who were wanted for offences such as burglary and stealing.

“We know who those people are and they can be expecting a call from us,” he said.

Youth holiday programs

Sen. Sgt Scragg said police were expecting a busy holiday period, including youth policing officers.

“We just want to remind the families out there that we will be supporting some of the programs that are ongoing over school holidays,” he said.

“We will be supporting the City programs that are running so we would ask people to get in contact with the City of Greater Geraldton.

“The Police and Citizens Youth Club also have some programs that are running during the day, so there’s a bit of fun to be had down there in the Safe Space program.

“Also Streeties and Bundiyarra, they’re running some programs in Rangeway-Karloo area.”
