Geraldton ranks high for housing affordability

Geraldton remains one of the most affordable locations for homebuyers in WA, with the second lowest median house price of major regional centres for the December quarter.

According to the Real Estate Institute of WA, Geraldton’s median price of $280,000 was bettered only by Port Hedland ($210,000) for affordability.

The most expensive locations were Busselton, with a median of $555,000, and Broome ($430,000).

The median for regional WA was $335,000.

House sales in Geraldton rose by 38 per cent in the December quarter, with 133 sales, compared to 98 for the September quarter.

Sales were up 10 per cent on the December 2017 quarter.
