Geraldton softball round 4 preview: Blaze looking to keep good times rolling while Suiside set the benchmark

Several teams are hitting their stride as the Geraldton softball season moves into full swing, including Batavia Blaze in men’s division one. Blaze will be going into round four looking to keep the good times rolling after their strong 11-0 win last weekend. That victory was powered by consistent performances from Jack and Eli Etherton and the experienced Josh Thompson. On Saturday afternoon, they face Martians in what could be a defining game for both clubs. Blaze have found their rhythm, while Martians will be eager to bounce back after a quiet few rounds. Later in the day, Suiside meet Rams in what should be another statement outing for the Bulldogs. The Suiside men have been nothing short of dominant through the opening rounds and continue to improve each week. Cooper Jefferies has been in blistering form at on the mound and bat, with Jy Prosser and Liam Meharry anchoring the team offensively and defensively. Rams will need to produce their best to challenge a Suiside outfit that looks every bit a title contender. In women’s division one, Friday night’s clash between Rams and Marlins promises plenty of fireworks. Rams have shown excellent form with Stevie Usher and Kate Harrison setting the tone both on and off the field. Across the diamond, the Marlins trio of Taryn, Zoe and Sophie Purcell continue to shine, combining leadership and hitting power. On Saturday, Pi’s will face Martians in another intriguing contest. Martians’ Chloe Leggett and Tamara Kuipers have been among their best this season and will look to inspire a turnaround performance. The men’s division two competition continues to be unpredictable. Gunduwa come into the round buoyed by their big win over Pi’s Panthers last weekend and will be confident against Martians. Pi’s will still be chasing their first win but will have their hands full against Rams White, who remain steady and composed. Marlins face a tough assignment against ladder leaders Suiside, while Blaze will aim to extend their strong run when they take on Rams Blue in the evening fixture. In women’s division two, Marlins and Suiside meet in what could be one of the weekend’s most evenly matched games. Rams White will take on Pi’s Panthers, while Gunduwa meet Martians in another close contest on paper. Blaze will round out the weekend with a clash against Rams Blue, hoping to maintain their promising early-season form.
