Geraldton softball round 7 preview: Suiside get chance at redemption after Martians snapped their win streak

Suiside will be eager to bounce back against the Martians this week after they ended their winning streak in men’s division one of the Geraldton Softball Association. Suiside’s 5-0 run came to an end last week at the hands of Martians. The sides will face-off again on Saturday evening. Cooper Jefferies has been in stellar form, joined by Tyler Corlett, Jack Garland, Liam Meharry, and Joseph Mazza all shining for the ladder leaders. Martians have a double-header, playing the Rams as well in the earlier slot on Saturday. Rams coach Paul Valenti feels optimistic about the side following their win over the Blaze last week. “We had a solid win, watching our younger players gain more exposure in division one and witnessing their improvement is truly encouraging,” he said. The division one women’s ladder continues to be dominated by the Rams who are maintaining their undefeated record. They are set to face Suiside on Saturday afternoon, while Marlins clash with Martians on Friday afternoon with both teams experiencing mixed results this season. Taryn Purcell’s Marlins struggle to recreate last season’s form that led them to the grand final. In the men’s division two games, Rams face Martians on Friday evening, with other matches scheduled for Saturday afternoon. Blaze competes against Martians Red, who later play a double-header against Suiside. Suiside boasts a flawless win record, with Jack Garland and Cory Lind impressing for the ladder leaders. Gundawa takes on Martians Black in the final men’s division two game on Saturday afternoon. Suiside battles Marlins on Wednesday in women’s division two, while Pi’s Panthers face Martians on Saturday afternoon. The division three games see Blaze take on Gundawa on Wednesday and Rams round off the action against the Martians.
