Geraldton will host a WAFL Colts twilight match on April 18, when Swan Districts take on East Fremantle at Wonthella Oval.

Great Northern Football League vice-president Heather Brett said the event would also include a local women’s game.

“The showcase event will be considered a celebration of football, with a GNWFL women's match between the two inaugural grand finalists, Chapman Valley and Railways,” she said.

She said the Mid West was recognised as being the most productive region nationally for AFL talent.

Last year, East Fremantle played Perth in Geraldton, with 19 Mid West players showing off their skills in front of a home crowd.
