A member of the Geraldton Volunteer Marine Rescue Group is in the running for a VMR Service Award.

Jamie Jones has been shortlisted as a 2019 finalist for the outstanding individual achievement award, along with Carnarvon’s Noel Gaitskell and Port Hedland’s Zachary Slaughter.

The Department of Fire and Emergency Services website states the awards aim to “celebrate the outstanding efforts of our volunteers who have shown a high level of dedication”.

Winners will be announced at a gala dinner in Perth on September 7.
