Geraldton water polo round 5 preview: Rats looking to overcome 18-goal loss this week against Demons

After suffering an 18-goal blowout last week, the Rat’s A-grade women’s side are eager to bounce back this week against the Demons on Saturday, November 11. In round five action of the Geraldton Water Polo Association, the Rats hope to have goalkeeper Selina Kiddle back in action to handle Abbie McDonald, who is currently in top form and scoring goals for Demons. B52’s will take a break and experiment with new strategies when they face the composite team, as the league leaders are close to reaching 50 goals for the season, having played only four games. Emma Smith, a star player for B52’s, leads the individual tally with 10 goals to her name. In the men’s A-grade games, Rats have been struggling towards the end of games due to limited substitution options. Luke Nuerwerts’ team will compete against the Relics on Saturday, with both sides coming off recent losses and looking to make a statement. B52’s will face the current league leaders in the Demons. Zacc and Joel Cross have scored a total of 20 goals for the top side, but young Leo Prout has demonstrated the energy of youth in the water for B52’s, consistently scoring whenever the opportunity arises.
