Relics broke the A-grade ice to defeat B52s 8-7 in a Geraldton Water Polo Association thriller on Friday. The bottom side pulled off an unexpected victory as they overpowered the in-form B52s, with Jack Deschamp playing an instrumental role in Relics’ goal, making key saves throughout the game. While Leo and Daniel Prout were in fine form for the B52s, defensive errors and tenacity from the victors brought home a well-deserved win. While Demons continue their run as the top team with a 13-4 win over Rats, Drew MacGregor showcased excellent form in the Demons’ goal, and the dynamic duo of Joel and Zacc Cross once again applied pressure on opponents, scoring six goals between them. In women’s A-grade, Demons secured a solid 12-1 win over the Composite side, with Trixie Kerr, Abbie McDonald and Sian McDonald all contributing to the scoresheet for the victors. However the women’s B-grade, Demons proved too hot for Serpents, winning 16-1 with Billie Marshall’s five goal haul a stand out. Rats went down to B52s 2-4, with Abbie Hagan and Casey McGagh both shining for the victors. Demons took down the B52’s in men’s B-grade with a 12-5 victory, as Lachy Toomath scored six goals in the win, while Rats had a 4-4 stalemate with Relics in the other game. In C-grade women’s games, Rats Black had a comfortable 10-3 win over Serpents Green, Demons Black won the derby over Demons Yellow 4-1 and Rats Orange and Serpents Yellow tied 5-5. Rats and B52s drew 9-all in men’s C-grade with Demons disposing of Rats 9-3.
