Geraldton women to be offered confidence boost, clothing and styling tips when Dress for Success WA returns

Free styling sessions, clothing and employment support will be offered in a bid to empower local women when a charity returns to Geraldton later this month. Dress for Success WA is staging its final outreach event of the year in Geraldton on Tuesday, September 23 and Wednesday, September 24 at Ngala on Gregory Street. The initiative’s mission is to support women into employment across WA, especially in regional communities where access can be limited. “We’re proud to return to Geraldton, a community that has truly embraced the spirit of our work,” Dress for Success WA CEO Natalie Sangalli said. “Our clients show incredible resilience, and we’re here to support them with the confidence and practical tools they need to move forward.” Geraldton MLA Kirrilee Warr will attend the second day of the visit to see firsthand the impact the charity is having in rebuilding women’s confidence and preparing them for the workforce. Dress for Success WA is planning a permanent presence in the region from next year, aiming to run monthly styling appointments between February and November. “Regional women deserve the same access to support as anyone in Perth,” Ms Sangalli said. Women referred to the two-day event will be provided with two complete outfits suitable for work or life events — including shoes, handbags and accessories — a personalised styling session with a trained volunteer and access to information, resources and referrals to support job readiness, wellbeing and personal goals. Referrals and appointments can be made with headspace, RUAH, Workskil, APM, Communicare, Desert Blue Connect, Joblink Midwest, Meedac, NIAA Programs, Real Futures, Salvos, Shine Today, Regional Alliance West and TAFE. Referrals and bookings are essential.
