Two Geraldton products had impressive games in the WAFL over the weekend, with their performances putting them among the best on ground.

In the round 2 colts clash, East Fremantle beat Swan Districts by 10 points, 9.13 (67) to 9.3 (57) on Sunday. Geraldton’s Jed Hagan was one of the best afield, with 31 disposals, 14 marks, nine tackles and eight inside-50s.

Hagan has started the 2022 season in fine form and if it continues is a real chance to be taken at a high pick in this year’s AFL national draft.

In round 10, the East Fremantle women remain undefeated, after they were too good for Swan Districts, 7.5 (47) to 1.1 (7) on Saturday.

Geraldton’s Julia Teakle kicked two goals, and amassed nine possessions, while her younger sister Tiani Teakle had seven disposals and took four marks.

The previous weekend, Julia Teakle played in the WAFLW All Stars side, which narrowly beat the WA team by 12 points on April 16.

East Fremantle’s league and women’s teams are travelling to Northampton this weekend to take on East Perth and Claremont respectively as part of the town’s “festival of footy” on Saturday.
