Geraldton’s The Gerald Apartment Hotel manager Gemma Clark named top WA hotel executive manager

A Geraldton hotel manager has earned a top prize at the 2023 AHA Perth Airport WA Accommodation Awards for Excellence. Gemma Clark, of The Gerald Apartment Hotel, received the hotel executive manager award, sharing it with Joyce Mann, of Doubletree by Hilton Perth Waterfront. Last year, at the 2022 awards, Ms Clark was highly commended for her work, and went one step further at the Australian Hotels Association gala on April 3 by taking the top prize. Ms Clark said it was an honour to be recognised by others in her field. Ms Clark thanked her team at The Gerald, and owners Grant Pitman and Susan Henderson. “Thanks for your support, and the opportunities you’ve given me. I love working here,” she said. Ms Clark was the sole Geraldton name to win an award, with other prizes taken by big names such as The Ritz-Carlton and Hilton Perth Waterfront. “It feels great to represent our region, show we are doing great things, and hopefully bring people to the region,” she said.
