GRAMS’ annual family day attracts a big crowd at Towns Football Club in Wonthella

Geraldton Regional Aboriginal Medical Service hosted its annual family fun day last week, bringing a large variety of entertainment for children to end the school holidays. The event was held on Thursday at Towns Football Oval in Wonthella, and followed through with their guarantee of entertainment for the whole family. The smoke- and alcohol-free family fun day saw hundreds of parents enjoy the live entertainment of the Henry and Ranahl Band and children lined up for camel rides, Fliptease hula hooping, and bigger activities such as water slides and mountain climbing The dunk tank, fishing simulator and a reaction game were some of the other hits. GRAMS co-ordinator Brent Walker said it was a fantastic turnout this year, and he was already looking forward to next year’s event. “This is the fourth one I’ve been to, since COVID the turnout has been great,” he said. “The event gets better and better each year.” In previous years, GRAMS hosted the family fun day out in Maitland Park, but this year’s venue was a hit. “We had positive feedback about the new location,” Mr Walker said. “Thanks to everyone that turned up and we can’t wait for next year.”
