Volunteer groups are encouraged to apply for a grant from the State Government to help organise an event to celebrate National Volunteer Week later this year.

Grants of up to $1000 are available during Volunteer Week, which runs from May 15 to 21.

Applications close on March 5.

In total, 176 WA volunteer organisations received a grant in 2022, helping fund 213 events across the State.

Volunteering Minister Stephen Dawson said a week to thank volunteers was a cause worth supporting.

“These grants ensure that we take the time to appreciate and recognise the enormous contributions of a broad range of volunteers in our communities,” he said.

“Every person who becomes a volunteer is making a big difference to supporting their local communities.”
