Guilty pleas over $72k cash, drug seizure

A 62-year-old man found with more than $70,000 worth of cash during a police raid in Geraldton has pleaded guilty to possessing stolen or unlawfully obtained property.

Phillip Ross Marchei appeared before Geraldton Magistrate’s Court earlier this month and also pleaded guilty to possession of cannabis with intent to sell or supply.

Police found the drug and $72,406 in cash at a Mt Tarcoola home on June 21.

Marchei was granted bail to appear in Geraldton District Court for sentencing on November 27.
