The visitor got the job done as legendary American racer Joe Godsey took out the feature win in the premier USA vs WA pro-modified battle in Geraldton on the weekend.

Godsey travelled to the Mid West to take on some of WA’s best in a highly anticipated battle at the Geraldton Speedway on Saturday.

A field of 12 racers competed in the headline WA Pro Modifiers feature, with a mix of local talent and top competition.

The US racer came out on top with a total time of 15 minutes 59.143 seconds and best lap of 16.513 seconds, just ahead of Brad Ludlow, who finished with a total time that was 1.052 seconds behind.

Rounding out the podium was Brendan McKeagg, who only just trailed behind, while young local hopeful Ashley Baker finished in sixth place.

The race was round three of the WA Pro Modified series, with Ludlow taking the lead at 212 points.

Round four will be held on the weekend at the Augusta Margaret River Speedway.

Geraldton City Speedway will be back on April 20 with a twilight meeting after the Midwest Championship that was set to take place over the Easter long weekend was cancelled.
