High temperatures could force Thursday’s race meeting at Geraldton to be postponed or abandoned.

A decision as to whether the seven-event card goes ahead will be made on Wednesday morning.

Thursday is tipped to be 40 degrees and the first race has been put back to 2.22pm.

The meeting could be rescheduled to Saturday, but such would depend on the availability of essential services.

The Geraldton Turf Club will hold its annual general meeting tonight.
